Not only are there countless water sports activities, but also a number of different land-based activities that start in this diverse city. These are without a doubt the most popular organized excursions in Playa de Las Américas:
Pirate ship: If sailing is an absolutely impressive experience in itself, imagine how great it must be on board a real pirate ship. With this imposing wooden cruiser, you also get to see the most important points on the south coast of Tenerife.
Dolphin watching: You can watch whales and dolphins from the deck and on some boats even explore the ocean ground without getting wet. With the glass bottom boats, you can marvel at the colourful swarms of fish underwater from the comfort of a seat.
Submarine: Dive into the deep with the popular "Yellow Submarine". The Canarian waters are clear and full of life. You don't have to be a diver to enjoy the marine diversity of the ocean floor.
Water sports: no experience required, just the desire for fun. Among other things, you can take a ride on the banana boat, fly while parasailing, take off with the flyboard or jump over the waves on a jet ski.
Diving and snorkelling: These activities must of course not be missing on this beautiful coast. Descend into the deepest depths under the guidance of true experts. Or discover the colourful underwater world from above while snorkelling.
On wheels: Playa de Las Américas is also the starting point for numerous excursions on land, on which you can discover the interior of the island or the coast. Either on a rustic jeep safari with all-wheel drive, very comfortably by coach or on an exciting off-road quad expedition. And if you want some exercise at the same time, choose a racing bike, e-bike or, for the more experienced among you, a mountain bike.
Teide National Park: Visit “Father Teide”, as the locals affectionately call him. You can hike up on a guided walking tour, or put on a helmet and cycle up on a bike. You can also sit in an air-conditioned bus and enjoy the ride with panoramic views.

Although the name makes it seem like this is one single beach, there are several in this resort, all man-made, with calm waters, and offering at least the minimal levels of service. Some with fine, light sand from the Sahara, others with volcanic sand in all possible shades of grey. Here you can find out which beaches you will find on the impressive coast:
El Bobo: Of volcanic origin, with fine, almost black sand and an urban flair. There are a variety of restaurants, a very quiet beach that is suitable for both singles and families.
Troy: It is the largest beach, although it is divided into two parts (Troy I and Troy II) with grey volcanic sand and blue flag for cleanliness. In the surrounding area you will find shops and bars as well as a tourist information office, a pedestrian zone and services such as car rentals and water sports centres.
Las Américas: It is the most popular beach and half a kilometre long. It is designed for vacationers and offers, among other things, the best and most famous restaurants, hotels and shops. A long street to grab a few snacks with the family during the day, to stroll, for a romantic walk at sunset for two or to immerse in the nightlife. This beach has it all.
Torviscas Beach: Black sand and calm, crystal clear water. There are services such as sun beds and a beach bar. It is ideal for a family day and for snorkelling.
Playa de la Pinta: With golden sand, no waves thanks to the barriers, so ideal and safe for small children. There are a variety of shops in the local area and beautiful marinas.
Here in Paya de Las Américas you will find a wide range of accommodation for different types of clientele: families, single travellers, couples, retirees, etc. The hotels are geared towards mass tourism. You can therefore find deals to suit all budgets, from five-star accommodations to cheaper options. This is a selection of the hotels we think are worth recommending:
Hotel Troya: The four-star hotel is, how could it be otherwise, on the beach of the same name. The staff is attentive and professional, the buffet varied, the rooms spacious, the services varied and the location simply excellent, whatever you want to do: beach, walks, nightlife, etc.
Vanilla Garden Hotel: Adults only. Here travellers without children can enjoy their stay in peace. The services are excellent: buffet restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, sundeck, fully equipped rooms, gym, etc. Gara Suites Golf & Spa: For all those who appreciate golf and relaxation. Very quiet area, comfortable, clean and spacious facilities. Buffet, playground, gardens, swimming pool, etc. surrounded by the beautiful Las Américas golf course.
Regency Country Club: Luxury accommodations that will take your breath away with sweeping views of the Atlantic and exquisite decor. It has a pool with a bar right in the water, a gym and a mini golf course. Since it is not located on the coast, it offers more tranquillity and it certainly has a free shuttle bus to the beach.
